TSG presents Data Secure FileSec

FileSec is the command-line component of the Data Secure Suite. FileSec is callable by script or JCL. This allows pre or post processing of files. FileSec provides functions for cryptographic and certificate-related operations on S/MIME and PKCS#7 objects and for accessing a Certificate Database.

What services are provided?
  • Privacy
  • No tampering
  • Data authentication
  • Digital signatures execution and verification
  • Non repudiation
How are they provided?

As an extremely simple command line interface, available on any supported platform, with simple, preconfigured command parameters

Additional components of FileSec allow you to use it as API embedded in your programs or integrated with proprietary FT protocols.

FileSec: Functions & Benefits
  • Crypto operation and digital signatures
    • Provides proven, standard, safe, robust security standard
    • Allows for interoperability with all of the standard crypto clients, thus permitting a non intrusive approach
    • Based on PKCS #7 standard
  • PKI compliant
    • Allows interfacing any standard PKI, such as Entrust, Verisign, Baltimore, etc..
  • Token Ready
    • Allows interfacing to standard crypto tokens when desired
    • Smart card can be interfaced out of the box
    • Standard HSM such as Ncipher, 4758 or ICSF are interfaced out of the box
  • Command line interface
    • A simple command can perform all the needed crypto functions
    • Single command approach allows for high productivity, since a single command can result in as many as 8 internal crypto calls
  • Multiplatform
    • For the best available interoperability in the industry FileSec will be available for the following platforms and Operating systems:
      - OS/390 and z/OS
      - Unix (HP, Solaris, AIX, Linux)
      - Windows (all versions)
      - OS/400 (iSeries)
      - Open VMS on Alpha
      - Tandem NSK
  • API set
    • A powerful API set is available with DSTK for those that need to integrate into their applications cryptographic functionalities. While this approach is obviously more time consuming, there are cases, such as strict non repudiation, where proper application level cryptography is a must
  • Crypto Buffer Chaining
    • FileSec was developed since its design as a proper FILE oriented crypto service, and is not the by-product of other web based solutions.
A key feature is buffer chaining processing. With this function, files of massive size, several gigabytes, can be processed on any machine. This process is a specific proprietary Primeur algorithms that won’t be found in other utilities
  • Certificate Usage
    • Allows management and reuse of standard X.509 certificates
